DOGGY SLEEPING BAG IS A HOWLING SUCCESS ON KICKSTARTER
Whyld River’s DoggyBag raises over $10,000 in first 12 hours on Kickstarter and doubles goal in first 2 weeks
Portland, OR (September 4, 2018) The DoggyBag, a sleeping bag for dogs by local startup Whyld River, raised over $10,000 in the first 12 hours it was live on Kickstarter.com and more than doubled its goal within the first two weeks. Whyld River’s success points to a growing pet market for millennial’s “fur babies”. No longer satisfied with the status quo for their furry children millennials have taken to scouring the internet for new brands to provide the quality gear that their canine children need.
In fact a “fur baby” is the inspiration for Whyld River and the DoggyBag. A rescue dog named River who was adopted by 31-year-old founder, Rachel Bauman. Outdoor treks together proved to be therapeutic and life-changing for the pack leader and the pup until a backpacking trip on Mt. Hood. The cold ended that trip and began a quest. Was there a high quality sleeping bag like Bauman’s designed for River, to keep him safe on their adventures?
“I looked around for a solution” says Bauman, “but I just couldn’t find anything that was the same quality as my own outdoor gear. So I began making the perfect sleeping bag for my pup, River. Now I want to share my invention with other people who need better gear for their favorite canine adventurers.”
The DoggyBag is the result of a 2 year process of design and development by Whyld River. It is a durable, water-resistant and insulated sleeping bag that is cozy for canines even under the harshest conditions. Compact and lightweight, it is easy to transport for use as a travel bed, sleeping bag or just a safe haven to call one’s own.
The DoggyBag’s Kickstarter campaign will be live until 9am on September 30th on Kickstarter.com. The DoggyBag is available in 3 sizes and prices range from $89 to $109 depending on size.
